This is Part 1 of the FF-T50 RC plane build series. In this video we cover the construction of the FF-T50 plane, a plane loosely inspired by the Russian T-50 PAK-FA Stealth Fighter. In this video we start from scratch and get the plane about 99% complete. Maiden flights to follow in Part 2. Turnigy Motor Shaft Mod Video: www.youtube.com

@99minerkc For your friend Nawty2Hawty : Aw hunni, I know ya hate the things your daddy does to u and your mom, but look on the brightside, when u grow up and have your own family, the cycle will continue, and that’s what makes the world go around. U see my child, we upper echelon people need u lower class folks to do the filthy jobs we dont/wont do, so really, u have a PURPOSE in life! Now dontcha’s feel better now that Yara expained the facts of life to ya. ;o)

@catamaranman333 Thanks. Yes I will be making formal plans once the plane is test flown and everything is worked out and dialed in. Then after that I’ll make the final adjustments to the plans, add all the notes and extra information, then make them available. So please stay tuned.

@pistonpoweruk Thanks for the cool comment. I do hope the build videos are helpful at least for some people. Good to hear you made your first scratch build! I hope the maiden went awesome for you! Thanks again and happy Flying there across the pond in the UK!

@catamaranman333 I did bevel the under side of the control surfaces and left the paper on top. I also then cut small slits and put tape hinges through. I did fully tape the control surfaces also, this will hopefully make them more rigid and less prone to bending. For the fuselage folds I did make very small bevel cuts on the inside. This helps keep the folds straight and neat.

@HBparkflyers Thanks for the comment. The Foamboard wing actually feels pretty strong and rigid. I also applied some tape to the bottom side of the wing laterally across and under a slight tension. this worked fine on the FF-35. You can always add a spar though for extra strength and security.

your vids are awesome. you’ve got a really good way of explaining how you go through things. just maidened my first scratch build built form plans today. cost me 15 pounds all in, and i loved it. watching your vids is really helping me get my head round more complex builds. thanks from over the pond in uk

Hey Paul, two questions. Did you use taped hinges for control surfaces or did you bevel the underside and leave the paper on the top? Did you make the “folds” in the foam (like on the fuse top) by beveling the underside? Either way, the effect is nice.

no wing spar? foam boards are weak when it comes to high speed turns,

You guys are all doing great, keep up the good work. Yeah looks like spring is around the corner hopefully. I’m still planning on coming out in May for the MESA RCFF fly day. Should be awesome.

@rcFoamFighters i hope it’l only moves this direction. i lived in US as an xchange student and i think our people have a lot to learn from you. it would be a much better world if it was that simple)))

Paul you are getting to be too awesome with those builds. Great instructional video and the students are freaking out about this plane, they think it is the best plane yet. Awesome instructional build, it has inspired one of my students to start a new build based on the new design. Bravo man!

@catamaranman333 haa haa, Thanks catamaranman333! I hope you are right, I’m ready for spring. Need the lakes to thaw out for the boats and the stormy weather to go away so we can fly.

@sagabhcrew Very well said! I think generally people want peace and to get along. Our stupid governments get in the way and lead us to hate. I remember I was in the US Army stationed near the Berlin wall. Then a few years later in College I meet a friend who moved to the US from Russia. He was formerly in the Russian Army. We laughed at how not how long ago we were on the other sides of the wall and now could talk like friends and see we were pretty much the same.

@rcFoamFighters Agreed 100%!!!! first people should change their attitude toward each other! dumb russians to stop hating americans and dumb americans to stop hating russians. so far not much progress in that.

@sagabhcrew I agree 100 percent, wish too it was just for innovation and not for war. I also agree about resting on achievements, The US seems to be doing that with the space program. Soon the space shuttle will be gone and the Russian Soyuz space capsules will be the only way up to the space station, at least for a while. Wish our two Countries would work more closely together on all the innovation and space stuff. Could you imagine how much more technology we would have.
